Individual Somatic Release Psychotherapy Sessions

Step into a carefully held space, clinically informed and designed uniquely for you, where we explore Somatic Release methodologies to gently resolve long-held patterns and restore your system's natural balance.

Intro

A dedicated container where your system finds the safety to reorganise and release.

In a world that constantly asks you to be productive, available, and composed, it’s easy to carry a weight you haven’t yet had the space to name. Whether you're an over‑achiever holding everything together, a creative individual whose mind never rests, or a highly sensitive person feeling every room you enter, what you long for is not another coping strategy, but a way to feel genuinely at home in your own system.

In our Individual Sessions, we create a psychotherapeutic container uniquely for you, where precise Somatic Release work softens chronic patterns and restores the inner spaciousness needed to meet your life with grounded clarity, and ease.

Clinical Integrity & Trust

This is a professional space where you are invited to settle exactly as you are. We honor your unique pace to make sure every shift is grounded and resilient, fostering a therapeutic partnership that respects your history and your future.

Curiosity-Led Exploration

We replace the pressure to 'fix' with restorative curiosity. Together, we explore the subtle shifts of your internal landscape, uncovering exactly what your organism needs to return to a state of fluid ease.

Integration & Tangible Change

These sessions transform therapeutic insights into a tangible, embodied reality. By resolving long-held patterns at their roots, we foster the internal room you need to show up more fully in your life.

Is Somatic Release the right fit for you?

People come to this practice at different moments, but they share a singular intention: the desire to feel more relieved, connected, grounded, and aligned. Whether you are seeking to resolve a persistent 'stuckness' or looking to inhabit your life with greater vitality and grounded presence, we work with body and mind to address the roots of your experience and restore your natural rhythm.

↠ Navigating Anxiety & Panic: When anxiety feels like it’s taking over, we work to transform those overwhelming sensations into a manageable, lived sense of safety and internal regulation.
↠ Releasing Stored History: We help your system finally let go of the "bracing"—that physical record of trauma and chronic stress your body has been holding onto to keep you safe.
↠ Honoring Intimacy & Desire: Whether you are navigating your sexuality alone or with a partner, we create a conscious space to help you cultivate a relationship with pleasure and intimacy that feels authentic and deeply inhabited.
↠ Cultivating Emotional Maturity: You’ll develop a more sophisticated and compassionate understanding of your inner world, giving you the clarity to navigate your relationships without the old reactivity.
↠ Deepening Self-Discovery: Moving beyond "symptom relief" to explore the psychological and somatic dynamics that shape your sense of self.

Ultimately, these sessions are a space to stop 'managing' your life and start inhabiting it. You deserve a life where you aren't just functioning, but truly flourishing: anchored in a body that feels safer, a mind that feels clearer, and a spirit that is freer to move in its own rhythm.

Methodology

The Anatomy of a Session

A typical session is spacious, dynamic, and deeply collaborative. In this non-performative space, we apply a proven methodology designed to move you fluidly between your story, your biology, and the wider systemic field you belong to, ensuring that every psychosomatic shift is grounded in clinical integrity.

Here are some of the core elements you can expect us to navigate together:

Somatic Tracking & Interoception

We practice listening to the language of your body. By paying close attention to physical signals, we can turn vague feelings of stress and unease into a living conversation with your own potential for relief.

Movement-Based Release

Through respectful and curious movement interventions, we invite your body to express what has been suppressed at a cellular level. These interventions help you shift from feeling "stuck" into new ways of expression.

Systemic & Transpersonal Inquiry

We look at the bigger picture of your life, acknowledging the family roots, cultural influences, and wider systemic fields that shape your individual experience. By honoring these dynamics, we move beyond individual struggle to find a grounded sense of place and belonging within the world at large.

Reflective Integration

We use verbal psychotherapeutic exploration to anchor your somatic shifts into a conscious narrative. By connecting physical release to your history and patterns, we ensure your transformation is fully understood and integrated, turning raw sensation into a lasting state of coherence.

Testimonials

Kind words from former patients

Over the years, I have had the honor to work alongside hundreds of people. From therapy sessions to certification training paths that spanned years, I have witnessed countless journeys of growth, healing, and transformation. The following words are reflections from those who have shared this path with me.

Four years ago I began Maria R. Sideri’s training, and the most important thing I discovered was that I had been living most of my life focused on “thinking” rather than “feeling.” As I started to come down into my body through various practices, I connected with the world of sensations and truly felt my emotions.

From that point on, everything began to fall into place. I healed old wounds, released repressed feelings, moved through issues that had been blocked for years, and started to experience a new vitality. I could feel myself again and opened my heart to true love.

As a result of all this, what appeared to me as a vision during one of the therapeutic practices came to life: my daughter, Maria! This has been the most beautiful thing to ever happen in my life, and I know that if I hadn’t made the journey deep within myself to find my true being, she would never have come into my life.

All I can say is thank you Maria R. Sideri, for your guidance and companionship along this path.

— Angel Chicharro

Maria R. Sideri’s training has been a wonderful experience. One of community, togetherness, nature, self-expression, and an explosion of energy. Words can hardly express how grateful I am for all the awareness I gained during this process.

Reflecting on the path I’ve walked, I am thankful for the gentle, steady encouragement and support that helped me begin my journey of self-discovery and seek a deeper connection with my essence to recognize and accept it. This process has brought me a profound sense of liberation and transformation.

It has also changed the way I understand others. It gave me a greater sense of compassion for their nature. I highly recommend somatic psychotherapy to anyone who feels the need to embark on a healing journey. This is a harmonious and highly effective therapy that uses the body and movement as its main tools.

The body tells what words cannot. Dancing is when I feel my greatest power to express myself honestly!

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

When you are considering beginning a new therapeutic process, it is natural to arrive with questions. Below, I’ve addressed the most common inquiries to provide a clear sense of our work together, helping you choose a path that feels right for your current capacity and needs.

In many traditional talk therapies, the primary focus is on thoughts, stories, and insight: understanding what happened, why it matters, and how it affects you now. Somatic Release includes all of this, but adds another layer: your body and nervous system become active partners in the process.

Rather than only “talking about” your experience, we notice what your body does as you experience and share different things: tightening, collapsing, speeding up, going blank, or becoming restless. We then work directly with these patterns using somatic tracking, orientation, subtle movement, and inquiry. This allows some of the “stuckness” to shift at the level where it actually lives, like in your muscles, your gut, your breath, your capacity to be with sensations—not just in your thoughts about them.

Somatic Release addresses the deep-seated states where intellectual insight has reached its limit. It is specifically designed for the physiological residue of burnout, chronic stress, and high-stakes anxiety—the places where the nervous system is still bracing against a pressure your mind can’t "think" its way out of.

We work with the "stuck" patterns of survival, such as persistent numbness, relational loops of withdrawal or over-accommodation, and the after-effects of overwhelming experiences that continue to live in your breath and posture. Whether you are navigating a period of visible upheaval or a systemic sense of exhaustion, this work helps you reclaim your biological agency, moving you toward a state of lived coherence where you can finally inhabit your life with a settled heart.

No. Many people come precisely because they feel disconnected from their body: numb, shut down, over‑activated, or unable to “switch off” internally. Others feel a lot (sometimes too much) and worry that if they really pay attention to their body, they will be overwhelmed. All of these experiences are welcome.

We begin from wherever you honestly are, without forcing contact or chasing intense sensations. Part of the work is learning that you can meet your internal experience in small, manageable doses, with support.

Over time, this often leads to a quieter, more trustworthy relationship with your body: one in which sensation becomes less frightening and more like a guide — a way of knowing what you need, where your limits are, and what genuinely nourishes you.

There is no one-size-fits-all length for therapy, because each nervous system, history, and intention is different. Rather than setting a fixed timeline from the outset, we look together at what you are wanting support with, how your system responds to the work, and what feels realistic for your current capacity and life rhythm.

Sessions are 60 minutes and are typically held weekly or every two weeks. This frequency gives your system enough continuity to build safety and momentum, while also allowing time for integration between sessions. In most cases, I recommend an initial commitment of at least six months, so that we are not just “putting out fires,” but allowing deeper patterns to soften and reorganise in a sustainable way.

Over time, we will regularly review how you are feeling, what has shifted, and what you need next. Some people choose to work intensively for a period and then taper, while others prefer an ongoing, slower-paced process. We will always decide together, in conversation, so that the structure of therapy remains attuned to you.

How we’ll know if therapy is helping is something we keep track of together, not something you have to figure out alone.

Over time, we look for changes on several levels: how your body feels day to day (for example, less bracing, easier breath, or a sense of more internal room), how your emotional life is unfolding (more clarity, less reactivity, a kinder inner voice), and how you are moving through your relationships and daily responsibilities. Often the first signs are subtle — feeling a little more choice in moments that used to feel automatic, or noticing that situations which once overwhelmed you now feel more manageable.

We will regularly check in about what you are noticing, what feels different (even if only slightly), and where you still feel stuck. I will also share my clinical observations about how your nervous system is responding in the sessions: whether there is more capacity to stay present, to feel and integrate, and to return to a sense of internal steadiness after activation. If at any point it feels like the work is not supporting you in the way you need, we will talk about it openly and adjust the focus, rhythm, or goals of our work — or, if appropriate, explore other forms of support. My intention is that therapy feels like a living process that is responsive to you, and that its benefits are something you can feel not only in the session, but in the fabric of your everyday life.
