I am Maria Sideri Rossi, a psychologist and integrative somatic psychotherapist helping you restore inner balance.

Through Somatic Release, I support individuals, couples, and groups in building a clearer, kinder relationship with their inner world. By combining psychological insight with focused attention on the body, I help ease chronic protective patterns, regulate the nervous system, and foster a more natural sense of presence and vitality in daily life.

About Me

Who I Work With

I work best with people who are genuinely committed to deepening their self-understanding, enriching their relationships, and living with greater authenticity.

Many of those drawn to this work come at a crossroads. Some arrive in the midst of emotional, relational, or life difficulties. Others are responding to a quiet but persistent inner knowing that something in their life, body, or relationships no longer reflects who they are becoming, and are seeking a more authentic and embodied way of being.

People living demanding professional, creative, or spiritual lives while carrying a rich, complex inner world
Highly sensitive individuals who are reflective or intense in the way they experience emotions, relationships, and meaning
Those who are aware that “talking about it” is not enough and are curious about how their history lives in their body and nervous system

What you might be experiencing

People usually find me when they are seeking more than symptom relief. They may be:

↠  Navigating anxiety, panic states, depression, or the after‑effects of overwhelming or traumatic experiences.

↠  Caught in repetitive emotional or relational patterns that are painful but difficult to shift.

↠  Feeling disconnected from their body, numb or over‑activated, or unable to “switch off” internally.

↠  Drawn to deeper self‑knowledge and embodiment, even if life appears “fine” from the outside.

↠  Wanting a more conscious, respectful relationship with their sexuality, desire, and boundaries — alone or in partnership.

Across all of these situations, there is usually a shared intention: to feel more connected, grounded, and internally coherent, and to live from a place of greater presence and emotional freedom.

Methodology

My approach

A typical session offers a safe, flexible, and deeply collaborative space for exploration. Through a structured mind-body approach, we work across your personal history, the experiences held within your body and nervous system, and the broader relational and family context to which you belong.

The process is tailored to your individual needs and unfolds at a pace that respects your readiness, integrating psychological understanding, embodied awareness, and clinical expertise.

Here are some of the core elements you can expect us to navigate together:

Somatic Tracking & Attunement

We practice listening to the language of your body. By paying close attention to physical signals, we can turn vague feelings of stress and unease into a living conversation with your own potential for relief.

Movement-Based Release

Through respectful, and curious movement interventions, we invite your body to express what has been held, suppressed, or left unspoken at a cellular level. These interventions help you move beyond feeling "stuck" and discover new possibilities for expression, regulation, and connection.

Systemic & In-Depth Inquiry

We look at the bigger picture of your life, acknowledging the family roots, cultural influences, and wider systemic fields that shape your individual experience. By honoring these dynamics, we move beyond individual struggle and toward a grounded sense of place and belonging within the wider world.

Reflective Integration

We use verbal psychotherapeutic exploration to anchor your somatic shifts within a conscious narrative. By connecting physical release to your history and patterns, we ensure that your transformation is fully understood and integrated, turning raw sensations into a lasting state of coherence.

Professional Background and Clinical Training

My professional journey is grounded in more than fifteen years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist in private practice and over two decades of work in the field of mental health.

↠ Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Athens.

↠ Master of Science (MSc) in Culture and Mental Health, University College London (UCL), London.

↠ Postgraduate Diploma in Dance Movement Therapy, University of Barcelona, Barcelona.

My professional development has included extensive and ongoing training in the following areas:

↠ Body-oriented psychotherapy, including Reichian, Bioenergetic, and Core Energetics approaches (Wilhelm Reich, Alexander Lowen, John Pierrakos).

↠ Systemic approaches and Family Constellations (Bert Hellinger Method).

↠ Movement-based therapeutic methodologies and Dance Movement Therapy.

↠ Therapeutic approaches to sexuality and relationships, with specialized training in female sexuality and the psychosomatic dimensions of sexual experience.

↠ Transpersonal and Buddhist psychology, supported by extensive, in-depth personal analytical work, ongoing psychotherapy, and long-term professional supervision.

I am accredited as a Transpersonal Psychotherapist by the European Transpersonal Association (EUROTAS) and hold professional membership with the Official College of Psychologists of Catalonia (COPC).

Alongside my work in individual and couples psychotherapy, I have devoted many years to training and supervising professionals in body-oriented and psychosomatic therapeutic approaches, primarily through leading and teaching a three-year training program in Psychosomatic Therapy in Barcelona, which I developed and directed. This work has played a significant role in shaping the pedagogical, clinical, and methodological foundations of the Somatic Release Method.
