I am Maria Sideri Rossi, a psychologist and integrative somatic psychotherapist helping you restore inner balance.

Through Somatic Release, I support individuals, couples, and groups in building a clearer, kinder relationship with their inner world. By combining psychological insight with focused attention on the body, I help ease chronic protective patterns, regulate the nervous system, and foster a more natural sense of presence and vitality in daily life.

About Me

Who I Work With

I work best with people who are genuinely committed to their psychological and relational development. Many of the individuals drawn to this work are:

Some come in moments of acute difficulty; others arrive from a quieter but persistent sense that something in their life, body, or relationships is not yet aligned with who they really are.

Living demanding professional or creative lives while carrying a rich, complex inner world.
Highly sensitive, reflective, or intense in the way they experience emotions, relationships, and meaning.
Aware that “talking about it” is not enough, and curious about how their history lives in their body and nervous system.

What you might be experiencing

People usually find me when they are seeking more than symptom relief. They may be:

↠  Navigating anxiety, panic states, depression, or the after‑effects of overwhelming or traumatic experiences.

↠  Caught in repetitive emotional or relational patterns that are painful but difficult to shift.

↠  Feeling disconnected from their body, numb or over‑activated, or unable to “switch off” internally.

↠  Drawn to deeper self‑knowledge and embodiment, even if life appears “fine” from the outside.

↠  Wanting a more conscious, respectful relationship with their sexuality, desire, and boundaries — alone or in partnership.

Across all of these situations, there is usually a shared intention: to feel more connected, grounded, and internally coherent, and to live from a place of greater presence and emotional freedom.

From my practice to your inbox.

Consider my newsletter a gentle pause in your week. I send out occasional reflections on the power of Somatic Release, movement prompts to help you reconnect, and first-access to my workshops and trainings. It’s an invitation to come home to yourself.

Methodology

My approach

A typical session is spacious, dynamic, and deeply collaborative. In this non-performative space, we apply a proven methodology designed to move you fluidly between your story, your biology, and the wider systemic field you belong to, ensuring that every psychosomatic shift is grounded in clinical integrity.

Here are some of the core elements you can expect us to navigate together:

Somatic Tracking & Attunement

We practice listening to the language of your body. By paying close attention to physical signals, we can turn vague feelings of stress and unease into a living conversation with your own potential for relief.

Movement-Based Release

Through respectful and curious movement interventions, we invite your body to express what has been suppressed at a cellular level. These interventions help you shift from feeling "stuck" into new ways of expression.

Systemic & Transpersonal Inquiry

We look at the bigger picture of your life, acknowledging the family roots, cultural influences, and wider systemic fields that shape your individual experience. By honoring these dynamics, we move beyond individual struggle to find a grounded sense of place and belonging within the world at large.

Reflective Integration

We use verbal psychotherapeutic exploration to anchor your somatic shifts into a conscious narrative. By connecting physical release to your history and patterns, we ensure your transformation is fully understood and integrated, turning raw sensation into a lasting state of coherence.

Professional background and clinical formation

My work is grounded in more than fifteen years of clinical psychotherapy practice and over two decades of engagement with mental health contexts.

↠ Psychologist: Degree in Psychology, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Athens.

↠ Postgraduate studies: MSc in Culture and Mental Health, University College London (UCL).

Master’s degree in Dance Movement Therapy, University of Barcelona, specializing in movement and embodied experience in emotional transformation.

My professional development includes sustained multi‑year formation in:
↠ Body‑oriented psychotherapy and the Reichian lineage (Wilhelm Reich, Alexander Lowen, John Pierrakos).
↠ Bioenergetic and psychosomatic therapy.
↠ Systemic and family constellation work.
↠ Movement‑based and dance therapy modalities.
↠ Relational and embodied sexuality, including advanced training in female sexuality and psychocorporal integration.
↠ Transpersonal psychology, psychodrama, and long‑term personal analytic work and supervision.

I am recognized as a Transpersonal Psychotherapist by the European Transpersonal Association (EUROTAS) and am a member of the Official College of Psychology of Catalonia (COPC).

Alongside individual and couples work, I have spent many years training and supervising professionals in body‑oriented and psychosomatic therapeutic processes, particularly through a three‑year formation in Psychosomatic Therapy in Barcelona. This educational work has strongly influenced the pedagogical foundations of the Somatic Release Method.
